Counseling can help you to navigate difficult times with greater ease and recover a sense of inner peace, happiness, and well-being. You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, loss, illness, medical trauma, fatigue, or self-criticism. Sometimes people want to work with me because they have tried traditional talk therapy, and it made them feel worse, or they didn’t make the progress they hoped for.

I’ll teach you skills for recovering from difficult times so that it doesn’t feel so overwhelming. And I’ll teach you how to feel more peaceful and resilient again. When you work with me, you will learn skills to help you claim a sense of agency over your mental health, physical health, and overall well-being. There are often things we can do to help ourselves feel a greater sense of inner peace, happiness, and well-being.

Somatic Mindfulness Therapy and More

All of my work as a counselor is grounded in mindfulness therapy. In my 35+ years of working as a counselor and mindfulness teacher, I have found that mindfulness is one of the most powerful healing tools. Mindfulness therapy has been shown to increase positive emotions and experiences, including a greater sense of calm, inner peace, happiness, and well-being. It has also been shown to reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, grief, pain, insomnia, gastrointestinal disorders, and a host of other medical disorders.

I offer mindfulness therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction MBSR to teach you mindfulness exercises for healing from stress, loss, and anxiety and coping with chronic illness.

My work as a mindfulness therapist is about helping you to know and understand the mental patterns that can lead to stress, anxiety, and depression and teaching you how to develop new habits and mindfulness exercises that promote greater inner peace and happiness.

Somatic therapy and mindfulness therapy can help you to learn how to read your nervous system, recognize when you’re amped up or feeling frozen, and learn how to get yourself back to a greater sense of calm, happiness, and inner security.

I also offer a number of additional modalities to assist you, including grief counseling, narrative therapy, CBT, positive psychology, and positive neuroplasticity training.

Positive Neuroplasticity Training – Rewire Your Brain

Our thoughts can literally shape the structure of our brain. Positive neuroplasticity training teaches you how to rewire your brain for a greater sense of calm, happiness, confidence, inner strength, and resilience.

Neuroplasticity training can also be used to support increased positive emotional states and resilience and to reduce physical and emotional pain.
