MINDFUL AWARENESS

Mindfulness is the quality of bringing mindful awareness to the present moment without judgment. Practicing mindful awareness allows you to stay in the present without getting lost in worry about the future or regret about the past. When you have mindful awareness of the present moment, you have the power to respond rather than react and can cope more effectively with difficult thoughts or feelings.

Bring mindful awareness to the present moment. When you see yourself clearly, you have the freedom to change.

Mindful awareness practice allows you to relate more skillfully to difficult sensations, feelings, and thoughts without becoming overwhelmed. Once you learn the skills to cope with difficult experiences,  you are free to live your full potential.

When we pause from the busyness, when we stop, it actually gives us a chance
to come home to our hearts again.
— Tara Brach

When you quiet your mind and bring mindful awareness to present moment experience, you can begin to shed the layers of protectiveness that you’ve developed from past hurts and begin to open your heart.

You can begin to open your heart to whatever arises and trust that you are ok no matter what happens in your internal or external experience. With access to this sense of internal refuge, you are free to experience a greater sense of connection and belonging, and you become capable of cultivating loving-kindness and compassion toward yourself and others. This facilitates a deepening sense of peace, ease, and well-being.

Mindfulness is basically just a particular way of paying attention.
It is a way of looking deeply into oneself in the spirit of self-inquiry
and self-understanding. – Jon Kabat-Zinn

As you develop loving-kindness and compassion, you begin to understand that we are all interconnected and that your well-being depends upon the well-being of the natural world, and the natural world”s well-being depends upon your well-being. As you grow in your understanding of this interrelated ecology of all living things, you grow more committed to nurturing wellness in yourself, others, and the natural world.
